G Love In The Kings Court

G Love&Special Sauce G Love In The Kings Court Lyrics
1.My Mere

Long long time ago
Shake off your shoes
Kick off your boots
Here's what she said to me
The world is a possibility
And even though i grown old
I still believe in
Everything she told to me
Sometimes i'm an invisible man
You can't see me
But can understand
I'm just one grain in your pile of sand
I never fit in to your plan
My grandma said when she took me aside
Gonna make many many chances in life
Gonna make many mistakes in time
Just make sure you don't lose your mind

Even though i've grown old
I still believe in
Everything she told to me
Find yourself and thats for sure
Whether you're rich
Or whether you're poor
When the handles broke
And open comes the door
Leave tonight, what ya waiting for?
My grandmom is dead and gone
Me i'm still traveling on
Dark as night fades into dawn
Stars at night fade into morning time

Even though i've grown old
Still believe in
Everything she told to me
Even though i still young
Still believe in everything i've done
And even though i've grown old
Still believe in
Everything she told to me

2.Mom's A Surfer

Yo, my mom was a surfer
She surfed the big old waves
In avalon new jersey
She had a big ole brown board
With red stripes
Back in the day on the beach
When the break was right
She'll make you tight
She'll do the mashed potato
And the buckaroo

When she was inside the tube
Her legs was renewed
She was juice
And loose with her caboose in the bikini
All the fellas would whine
That she gets all the waves
And she looks so fine and pretty
So i wrote a ditty
In the days that i walked on the earth
Thats right, i said my mom can surf
Say oh yeah
She's got the motion
Thats right
Say oh yeah
She's got the motion

Yo, mary jane lorraine
Thats my mommas name
And when she steals your wave
Yo man, please don't complain
The biggest wave of the day
Is for grabbing i'm not bragging
Thats right
I said my mom can surf
Like smurfette
She'll be the only girl in the lineup
And at the bunkroom
All the fellows would line up
My dad couldn't surf
But you know he got lucky
Momma 52 years old and still truckin'
In hawaii, escondido and california
Biaritz and austrailia i think you better wait
South america, south africa
What i'm telling ya
Is my mom can surf
And don't ask her where shes from
Or even start joking
Cuz she's good for a girl
And yes she's always local

Oh, thats right
She's got the motion yeah
I say, oh, thats right
Yeah she's got the motion
There she goes man

So mom can surf
Now you know i know what to do
I looking for you
Yeah, the girl who says if it swells
You know i'll ride it
Cuz surfer girls like surfing
And they never hide it
This little surfer girl
She's gonna wax my stick
She's driving old car from 1966
I thought she was a mermaid
Floating in the ocean
Tell her on the beach
And rub her with some suntan lotion
She got the motion
Of the sea of love in the air
Gonna surf some bikes
Be a surfing pair
She's the hitchikin' woman
And she thumbs around with me
Thats how it is and
And thats how its gonna be
So don't be jealous
Man or start cursing
Cuz thats my girl
Don't you know, she's surfing

Oh, thats right
Yeah, she's got the motion
Oh, thats right
Yeah, she got the motion
Oh, thats right
She got the motion
Mmmmm, thats right
Yeah, she got the motion

3.Rise Above

If the wide wide world
Should ever fall apart
And fall into darkness
Long long way
If the wide wide world
Should ever fall apart
Well i'll be there long
Make a brand new start

Yes and there would be no judges
No they'd be in the dark
There would be no judges
No judges on this ark
There would be no businessmen
Controlling all the people
There would be no missles
Wars for the people will be for people
There would be no crime
Cuz there would be no time
Cuz when the wide world falls apart
Everybody wanna walk the line
Walk the line, walk the line
Because i'll be there long
Walk the line
Walk the line

Yes and there would be no lies
No politicians too
There would be no prisons
For the people know what to do
There will be peace
And brother sister love
Cuz when the wide world falls apart
Everybody wanna rise above
Rise above
Rise above
Said i'll be there long
Rise above
Rise above
Yeah
Rise above, man

4.City Bum

Its a cold night said the city bum
With a blanket on his shoulder
Sitting by the delaware
And the damp air gets colder
Morning is not even close
Thats when the church doors open
The night is long lonely night
But still hes not alone

When i was young look above
The heavens game me hope and spirit
Having lost my job and my true love
This bottle gives me spirit

Here this says the policeman
Kicking him from his warm grate
No bums here curse his soul
The cop was shot later that night on patrol
Morning comes
And the church was open
But it was full
There was no hoping
For some food or hot coffee
To greet this bitter day

In winter time
Spare some change the businessman
Spat and walked away
Later on in the businessmans day
His money was gone when his wallet misplaced
A cabbie passed mean and fast
Pushed a horn and gave a blast
Sprayed the bum with dirty slush
The bum was angry but he stayed hush
Two blocks later the cabbie rushed
The red light flashed
The city bus smashed the cab against the pole
The cab was gone and the cabbie was crushed
Day was fading and night came on
The shelters for nowhere is home
The bum cries lonesome tears
Tasted stale and bitter like beer

When he reached his cache
His blankets were gone
Stolen away
The bum cried more tears
The night grew old
He shivered still
Drew one more breath
I heard him moan
He passed that night at five am
The night was four below zero
The coldest night of the season
Without reason his blankets were stolen
A gypsy girl of fourteen sensed a strange eruption
In a crystal ball as clear as day
She watched a thief walk away
With two warm blankets underneath the bridge
He fell asleep the last deed he did
The thief in a rest rolled off a ledge
And drowned in a frozen cold

The gypsy girl she looked again
Into her crystal ball
She seen the bum take one last breath
He died and let his hair fall
Knowing the truth all powerful
Yet unsuspecting man
That same man
Thiefed upon, robbed upon, spat upon
Gone for all eternity
The gypsy girl curses society
The poor old bum
A burden and a bother
Was my only father

5.Sweet River

Let me swim in your sweet river
Deliver on to you
Take back all the wrong i've done
Then give his love just one more run
The moon is full with your green eyes
I surprised you baby
Take back all the wrong i've done
Give his loving just one more run
One more chance, baby

Let me swim in your sweet river
Wash away all of this pain
Whoah baby i did you wrong
But i never do that again
Take me like a mermaid
Should i jump in and leave the shore
I'm a swim and leave the shore
Baby, swimming for some more
Swim and leave the shore
Swimming for you girl, oh baby
You know what i mean
Let me swim for you girl
Cuz i love you

6.Keep On

Everybody's saying they right
I ain't saying that they wrong
What but i can't stop moving now
I've got to keep traveling on
Everybody's saying they right
I ain't saying that they wrong
But i can't stop moving now
I've got to keep traveling on
And then in one minute of time
They call life everybody think they
Living so large but they don't feel so nice
Quite removed from a situation
Cut off from circulation
Slip off a rock
My eyes are dialated
All by myself
All by my lonesome
But i keep riding around here
Feeling so strange
Even in my own house i'm going insane
I keep asking god where is my peace
Brung me around see erase it and forget it
Trace it on my stairs
And dogs bark
Cuz they're dogs they're barking
I'm so tired of the half hearted ways
Of todays society

Everybody's saying they right
I ain't saying that they wrong
Can't stop moving now
I've got to keep traveling on
Everybody's saying they're right
I ain't saying that they're wrong
Well but i can't stop moving now
I've got to keep traveling on

I sent my check to mexico
I've been drinking pina colada
Where the beaches ???
And my ??? keep running for the days
Think i'm crazed
But ever since i've lost
My love sweet fancy
My heart has been asleep
Move with the passion
But can't find no relief
See what you do
Women tired of people telling them
What to do
What to wear
Why not to care
Only devils take a chance on a dare
But i ain't no devil
Just looking for some of this old time romance
So people
Shepards get like sheep
Sheep get like shephards
I mix the salt with the pepper
Yeah riding on on my bike
Oh yeah its still allright
Allright
Oh yeah its still allright
But everytime that we try to use it
They will try to refuse it

Everybody's saying they right
I ain't saying that they wrong
Can't stop moving now
I've got to keep traveling on
Everybody's saying they right
I ain't saying that they wrong
Well but i can't stop moving now
I've got to keep traveling on

9.Lying In The Park

On the green grass
And a blue sky
Peace and sunshine
Peace and sunshine
Soon,
Soon i'm going bye ???
Now i just want ??? city
Lookin' for the park
Lying down in the park
Lying down in the park
Yeah yeah yeah
See the momma
Down walking the dogs
Down by the fountains
Down by the fountains
Child, child
Eating sandwich and sweets
And your sitting by my fountain
Cooling my feet
In the park
Just before dark
Birds sing so smooth
But the park shut soon
What we going to do
Fine we gonna have to move
But i'll see you tomorrow
Lying down in the park
Lying down in the park
Lying down in the park
Yeah yeah yeah
Feel the warm breeze
Cool by ???
Seen my good friend
Seen my good friend
So, so
In the afternoon
And we take us for your city ???
Lookin' for the park
Lying down in the park
Lying down in the park
Lying down in the park baby

See that young girl
There she goes man
See that rich bum
The old men playing chess
See that young girl
With that flower dress
See that young girl
With the flower dress
Well soon i'm going bye
Now i just might move on
Looking for the park
Lying down in the park
Lying down in the park
Lying down in the park baby
I'll be there
I'll meet you there
Oh baby
Yeah

10.Willow Tree

Let me be your weeping willow tree
Surround you with my long limbs
My dear, let me grow in the shade
In the sands by the bank of your river
Let i drink from your streams
The cool breeze fill my leaves

We will sing together
Water over the pebbles
And i'll be by your side forever

I wish i was a weeping willow tree
I wish i was a weeping willow tree

I wish i was a weeping willow tree
Sweet river caress how softly
Stir my searching roots
Shading the sun in the summers heat
Let i cool you
We have been dancing so long
In the winters freeze and the summers drought
We survive
We belong
Let us sing together
Water over the pebbles
And i'll be by your side forever

I wish i was your weeping willow tree
I wish i was a weeping willow tree
I wish i was a weeping willow tree

Let us sing together
Water over the pebbles
And i'll be by your side forever

Let us sing together
Water over the pebbles
And i'll be by your side forever

We can sing together
Water over the pebbles
And i'll be by your side forever

Let me be
Your willow tree
Your willow tree
